Karyn Johnston, Director“Many people put off writing a Will again and again. We’re delighted that with the support of local Solicitors like Jackson Barrett & Gass waiving their fee to do this work many local people now have a valid Will drawn up and are enjoying the added peace of mind. Since it began, Will Week has raised over £84,000 in donations.”
Jackson Barrett & Gass are proud to announce their support for East Cheshire Hospice by raising £825.00.
Jackson Barrett & Gass supported the charity through the seventh annual East Cheshire Hospice Will Week. The Wilmslow Solicitors offered their time without charging their fee to write standard Wills. Anyone having their Will written during this week was given the opportunity to make a donation to the Hospice.
East Cheshire Hospice provides very special care for adults suffering from life-limiting illnesses for which there is no cure. They care for the whole person, putting patients, their families and carers at the centre of everything they do.
As a local registered charity, all their services are completely free. However, the Hospice must fundraise over 80% of its running costs from the community it serves simply to maintain the current provision, which is almost £7,500 every single day of the year. Gifts from Wills, also known as legacies or bequests, provide an essential part of this funding.
Rick Barrow of Jackson Barrett & Gass said “When the Hospice originally asked if we would like to get involved and support this initiative by writing some Wills free of charge, we thought it was a great idea.
“Now in its seventh year, we have seen the positive impact it has had in raising awareness about the Hospice, and the importance of Wills as well as some much needed funds.”
The next East Cheshire Hospice Will Week takes place between 2nd & 6th October 2017.
